"The Next Mile" >> Tech Ready Communities Pilot Projects

The purpose of the "Next Mile" Tech Ready Communities Pilot Project is to create a statewide initiative from a local project that demonstrates how rural communities can take advantage of broadband access by connecting programs that have been implemented and successful in the San Luis Valley as early as 1994.

This will be accomplished by connecting the six county courthouses of the San Luis Valley together with a Regional Data Center that will act as a pass thru for the storing and sharing of data sets as they are transported back and forth to the State capital. By creating a system of shared "real-time" data sets that can be simultaneously accessed and used at local, regional, and state levels we will prove how "real-time" information systems can create unlimited economic/community development opportunities for all of Colorado.
