The San Luis Valley Development Resources Group represents the historical merging in January 1994 of several long-standing development organizations and functions, including the San Luis Valley Regional Development and Planning Commission, the San Luis Valley Economic Development Council, and the San Luis Valley Council of Governments.
The combined efforts of elected officials, businesses, staff, and representatives from a cross-section of the Valley who participate in the SLVDRG and its programs are continuing to maintain and open up vital funding links for Valley projects. A $9.763 million business loan program with over 775.5 jobs recorded, and Enterprise Zone tax credits for eligible projects and investments averaging close to $1.35 million per year are examples of the SLVDRG contributions.
The San Luis Valley Development Resources Group has several programs to assist communities, businesses, and local governments with economic development strategies, research, funding, and facilitation. For many, we are the first point of contract for business, local governments, and community organizations needing information. We have developed strong relationships with our state and federal partners, providing services such as:
- Demographic and economic statistics and trends
- Community information
- Identifying and accessing resources
- Link to job training assistance
- Infrastructure development
- Site identification and assessment
- Valley-wide connections
- 25 years of experience in providing business assistance
